The Golf Club Wedding in Bawburgh with Ideas You’ll Want to Copy for Your Own Wedding.

Emily & Charlie were a world-class example of how to have a great golf club wedding. From Ferrari’s for the grooms party, to extra little tricks that made their wedding photos that little extra special, Emily & Charlie’s wedding is a fantastic point of inspiration for any upcoming engaged couple.

Fortunately they had Maven Visuals Wedding Films along to document it all in a wedding film, so we could share the best wedding moments with you.

Here are our 5 favourite moments from their wedding film so you can steal their best decisions for your own wedding.

Moment 1/5: When Glen Lodge’s Private Cottage for Bridal Prep Delivered Big-Time

Blog readers will know my views on Bridal Suites. You spend at least a quarter of your day in it, so it isn’t something you necessarily want to skimp on. The bridal cottage that Glen Lodge provided for Emily was perfect.

Discreet and out of the way, we could have all the curtains open without fear of being spotted by any of the groomsman or guests, and keep that beautiful lighting for those early morning wedding photos.

It also had a beautiful space outside (with a hot tub) that was the perfect place to put the dress and conduct the first look with the Father of the Bride

Moment 2/5: When the Groom made his arrival in a stunner of a Ferrari

The Father of the Groom had recently purchased a Ferrari, well earned after decades of hard work.

Charlie had envisioned the below image of him driving down the driveway underneath our wedding videography drone - and it was easy enough for us to plan for!

Drones can be tricky little things, especially for weddings.

They only have about 20/30 minutes of flight time per battery, and they’re sometimes temperamental in whether or not they want to take off right away. It can sometimes take up to 10 minutes to just get the drone in the sky, let alone plan a scripted shot and pull it off without practice.

For this reason I usually advise against scripted drone shots, or any wedding related shot that relies on the drone, especially if delays would have a knock-on effect to the rest of the wedding.

However, in this case it was easy - the Groom dropped me a text 10 minutes before he arrived, so I had ample time to set up. Then all he needed to do was arrive before the battery needed changing and we were good to go.

I think it was worth it, but I’ll let you be the judge!

Incidentally, his father hires that ferrari out for weddings now, so if you’re a couple getting married near Bawburgh, it’s worth checking him out if you need a luxury ride!

Moment 3/5: When their infant baby son was the ring-bearer

Although Charlie had a great selection of Groomsmen, all of whom would’ve been well trusted with the important ring bearing role… who could’ve been a better choice for the role than Charlie’s own infant son.

Admittedly, he had a fair amount of assistance from the Father of the Groom, but I still reckon he did a pretty great job. What do you reckon?

Moment 4/5: When we threw all the secret tricks to get the best wedding photos.

The first thing you’ll notice - Golf Buggies. And if you’ve read my other blogs containing golf buggies, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that this time I wasn’t relegated to hanging off the side of the roaming death machine.

In fact, I had my very own seat in the back of the cart driven by the Glen Lodge Staff. I’ve never known luxury like it.

Once we had arrived at Glen Lodge’s recommended sunset wedding photo location, Ash, the wedding photographer, pulled out his secret weapon: Champagne.

If you want to know the secrets to great wedding photos, they usually combine a golf cart, wedding champagne, and a great sunset.

Moment 5/5: When the party was absolutely ALIVE

These still frames taken from Emily & Charlies full wedding film shown below speak for themselves, but the party was a great time.

Emily even “borrowed” the wedding photographer's camera at one stage and started taking photos wildly. I can neither confirm nor deny if any made the final album… but based on the technique I witnessed… I’m inclined to lean towards “No”.

Emily, Charlie and their entire wedding party had been welcoming, fun-loving and filled with good vibes all day - and this wedding party just represented all that perfectly, closing this special day in the way it deserved - A good time.

So, feel free to jump in the conversation!

Which one of these moments were your favourite? Have any made you want to plan your wedding differently?
